Senior Project Engineer, Research and Development

Our Research and Development team located in Kent, Washington is seeking an experienced Project Engineer.

Successful applicants will:

  • Initiate new product ideas for the directional drilling guidance electronic and systems.
  • Provide, scope, schedule and budgets for R&D projects.
  • Design equipment and develop prototype system for proof of concepts.
  • Develop product performance validation plan.
  • Perform field test to validate design meets all design objectives.
  • Provide all documents required for transferring designs and products to Engineering Group.
  • Work closely with Customer Services and Engineering for product ideas, issues and support.

Individuals must have the following:

  • BS or MS, EE or Physics with 5+ years of product research and development in industrial electronics equipment.
  • Expert skill level in developing control and data acquisition system with LabView.
  • Experience with electronic hardware design is desirable.
  • Experience with SimuLink and Matlab preferred.

Manufacturing Engineer

Our Kent headquarters is currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. This senior level individual will provide specialized expertise in this newly formed position developed for our busy manufacturing department.

The Manufacturing Engineer will plan and coordinate improvements to our manufacturing processes and products. They will develop and improve manufacturing methods, tools and equipment. They will manage projects to develop, build, install and improve manufacturing test equipment. Provide analysis and input into engineering designs to assure completeness, design for manufacturability and compliance to quality standards. They will use statistical data to monitor and improve productivity and quality and assist in plant layout, design and implementation of Lean Manufacturing, including time and motion studies.

A bachelors degree in engineering (or equivalent engineering experience) and 10 plus years of related experience is necessary. Broad product, manufacturing and engineering knowledge and skill is required. Must have strong SolidWorks and/or Autocad skills, experience with Labview is a big plus. An ideal candidate will also be able to use typical machine shop tools and equipment to produce fixtures and assembly aids Must have product knowledge in the electrical and mechanical fields. Experience in quality assurance or quality engineering preferred.

Billing Supervisor

Our Kent headquarters is currently recruiting an experienced Billing Supervisor with a strong accounting background to mentor, supervise and grow our billing team.

This high integrity individual will supervise a billing staff of 3-4 individuals. They will drive and administer billing related processes and terms. This position is very much that of a hands on supervisor and will interact on a daily basis with our resellers, foreign offices and various departments at our headquarters. They will update, process and track using various databases and systems, administer and coordinate sales promotions and participate in forecasting, coordinating orders and projecting warehouse stock needs. They will play a key role in researching/resolving discrepancies and developing staff and completing performance evaluations.

Qualified applicants must have a four year degree, preferably in Accounting and 5+ years experience in a related supervisory position. Accounting skills must be high enough to reconcile various stages of our billing process. This person must be a team player and a good listener with a can-do attitude. Individual must have excellent communication (both verbally and written) and people skills. Must be able to multi-task and work well under stressful situations. Strong computer skills required. Macola and Manufacturing Industry experience preferred.

Human Resource Administrator

Our Kent headquarters is currently recruiting a skilled Human Resource Administrator to assist, support and back up two Human Resource Managers who co-manage the department.

This Administrator will perform moderately complex activities in support of a variety of human resource functions. They will assist in conducting project work in the area of benefits, employment, employee communications, employee events, recruiting, compliance reporting, international compliance and performance review administration. They will compile data and prepare reports. On a daily basis, they will answer and refer personnel-related and benefit questions and inquiries, interface with employees and field questions with assistance They will initiate and prepare human resources change notices and provide administrative support to the HR Managers. They will back-up and run the department as needed.

A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of human resource support related experience required. Working knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws and employee benefit compliance issues is also required. This individual must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills and HRIS reporting and system experience required. Must be able to work independently in a fast paced changing organization with the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently while maintaining a professional attitude and high level of professionalism at all times. PHR preferred.

Regional Field Service Manager, South West USA

Our team is seeking an experienced Field Service Manager in South West California to drive the development and implementation of a customized reseller marketing and training plan for California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Oregon.

In conjunction with DCI corporate sales and marketing, they will develop and implement product launches. They will be instrumental in managing reseller relationships in this territory including, but not limited to, liaison of local promotions, vertical market emphasis, reseller training and after sales support and customer troubleshooting. They will participate in local and regional trade shows or educational events that show case DCI products. They will provide input to product management team regarding product use, customer requirements, reseller feedback and competitive activity and technical information to engineering staff to determine feasibility of company products to meet customer requirements. They will work in a coordinated manner with DCI on alpha and beta test strategies by providing selected resellers and customers for inclusion into pre-release products.

This position requires a firm understanding of the HDD market, a high degree of technical knowledge of DCI products and the ability to work with new locating technologies. They will handle trouble-shooting calls and provide product demonstration in classroom or small group situations. They will work independently but also as a part of the customer service team. This person must be an ambitious strategic thinker with excellent communication and problem solving skills. This position requires the ability to work independently from home or on the road and lead others. Project management skills are important in order to manage business cycles across several internal DCI groups as well as coordinating activity in a large cross section of the Americas.

Demonstrated success in the areas of business, management, event planning and trade show participation. Excellent oral and written communication skills and exceptional personal relations abilities; experience working in front of large crowds and on a one-to-one basis. Individual must possess a high sense of integrity and be a team player in order to contribute value to field based peers and team. Must have 3 years related work experience in the trenchless technology industry. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Travel is mandatory with on the road time being 50-75% of the time; excellent driving record a must.
