How long have you been with DCI and how did you get your start?

I have been with DCI for 7 years. I started as a temp in the shipping department, transitioned to being a full-time employee after 2 months and then continued to work in shipping for 2 years. For the past 5 years I have worked as a Quality Inspector, MRB Coordinator, and Quality Specialist. In June 2023 I transitioned from the Quality Department to Production and am now performing the role of Manufacturing Production Specialist.

What’s your workday look like? What are you usually working on?

My workday runs from 7am to 3:30pm. During that time, I am responsible for helping ensure that production runs smoothly. You can either find me at my desk where I review drawings, processes, procedures, and respond to emails or navigating the various work cells in support of production staff. I spend most of my time identifying potential issues and then working to resolve them.

What’s something about a product or tool you help build or manage that might be interesting to a DCI customer? (without spilling company secrets)

Our products have sleek appearances that mask the intricacies of their assembly and the complex interactions between the components that enable their functionality. Externally, a receiver appears as simple as a display, handle, housing, and battery compartment. Internally, there are numerous parts comprised of hundreds of tiny components working together in harmony.

What’s your special power at work? What do you do better than anyone else?

I am especially good at employing effective communication in order to discover the pain points of our various departments and then working cross functionally to provide effective solutions.
